Welcome to The Treaty of Commerce,
The Treaty of Commerce in Lincoln is a traditional, though stylish, City Centre Real Ale Batemans Pub, situated on Lincoln High Street, close to St Mary’s Church and Lincoln Railway Station. One of the oldest pubs in Lincoln, we strive to preserve its character, with many of the original features still intact. The well kept garden is a perfect place to relax with a drink away from the noise and bustle of the city.
David Street and his partner Sandy McTaggart, together with Penny the puppy, took over the pub in February 2008. They have since set out to make The Treaty a friendly place that everyone will enjoy coming into.
David, the excellent chef, specialises in truly traditional pub food, combined with some spicy fayre to reflect out vibrant city’s changing, cosmopolitan nature. All food is cooked fresh on the premises, from the Treaty's special Steak, Mushroom and Batemans XXXB Ale gravy Pies to the Beef Chilli or Chicken Balti.
Sandy, meanwhile takes care of the bar (because David always spills drinks on the polished brass.)

The Treaty of Commerce appeals to a wide range of people, who enjoy a traditional English pub, which is not ‘themed’ or spoilt by ‘interior designers’ and which always has fantastic LOCAL ales.
You can enjoy a great night out at the Treaty, be it a night of fine real ales, lagers, wines or spirits (Always measured at 35ml a single or…you do the math!...) whilst you listen to the fantastic tunes issued forth from the Treaty's old school jukebox.
The Treaty of Commerce & Batemans promote sensible drinking. www.drinkaware.co.uk
